Thoughts Evoked by Forest Born

*Warning: People who have not read Forest Born may be blasted with spoilers*

Okay so I just finished reading about Rin, and I really felt I clicked with her. I think I'm most like her then any other character created by Shannon Hale. There's so much I want to say and don't know how to say it. One thing I liked was how people speech was shown in a good light, because everything has its good and bad side.

I really identified with Rin, because sometimes . . . I feel like a shadow. I know what its like to be afraid to speak what I think. I have irrational worries that keep me from saying what I feel, even though I know I'm being silly, which kind of makes it worse. I've also found myself mirroring other people when I'm around them. So I think Rinna has become a special character for me.

One things that makes Shannon's books likeable for me if how the "magic", the "supernatural" powers are believable. It makes me think that maybe there is a kind of language between man, beast, and nature.

I don't really think this is much of a review, but more of a reflection, so sorry for the disconnected thoughts. I just needed to say something.

Apologies

I really have no good excuse for not posting all summer, its gone the why of my journal. It really is my journal, this blog, every once in a while I say something about my life. Well I'll just give a short jest of my summer thus far.

  • Lake trips; tubing
  • Beach Camping Trip
  • Girl's Night Live Clue (one of the craziest girl nights ever)
  • Tour a Cave
  • Swimming
  • Rafting
  • Cousins Visit For the Weekend
When I put it up like that, it makes it seem jam packed, and I guess it was, but at the same time, it been kind of useless.

I've got things I need to decide about, and things I got to make myself do. I need to be a grown up, but I don't want to be a grown up. Why can't I just be a kid? *Sigh*
(P.S I know why)

Secrets of the Heart by Al & Joanna Lacy

So this is going to be a short video, because the my brother's video camera decided to stop accepting memory cards. Also, because of the shortness of time, plus how articulate i am not when it comes to giving a description verbally, I will copy and paste it here:

Kathleen O'Malley Stallworth a mail order bride? Not likely! But the Lord works in mysterious ways. Her parents and siblings died in the great Chicago fire; her husband was killed by a mugger; now her fabulously wealthy in-laws have taken her daughter Megan from her, claiming she's not fit to be a mother. In a newspaper ad for a mail order bride, Kathleen sees a chance to seek revenge on the Stallworth family. Instead, her westward adventure transforms her world and restores her faith. She returns to Chicago to fight for Megan but soon discovers God has prepared a victory she could never have imagined.
Genre: Christian Fiction (very Christian)

I got so fed up with making this, I didn't even care about a disguise anymore. So here I am in all my glory. (None of you had better be from the Chainsaw Massacre. ;) )

video

Also, something I didn't get to in the video, I thought that the final conflict was resolved to easily. Which is just another reason why it should have been written better.

Upcoming Post, maybe.

So . . . I'm thinking about doing a book review/blog post video. Yes yes, it must be a bug, everyone else seems to be doing it. Well I might too, but I don't think I'll be showing my face. I don't want just any old Joe seeing my identity. So, this remains to be something to decide upon.

Anyone have input?

Ambitous Adventures I Wish to Accomplish:

Okay so Cuileann made a list of thinks you wanted to do, and I decided I would follow suit.

  1. Live in Ireland, Scotland, and Australia.
  2. Go on a Safari.
  3. Visit Stonehenge.
  4. Write at least one book and publish it.
  5. Get one of my photographs in National Geographic.
  6. Visit Jane Austen's home.
  7. Meet LRRHer's (LittleRed down, everyone else to go)
  8. Have a spectacular library.
  9. Scuba Dive in the Great Barrier Reef (we should do that after we go to Ireland, Cuileann!)
  10. See Uluru a.k.a Ayer's Rock.
  11. Hold a Koala.
  12. Pet a Lion.
  13. Be out on a boat with a whale (preferably a boat that won't tip over easy, but low enough that you can reach out and try to touch it.)
That's all that I can think of for the moment, to be continued.
